The Grand Imam Dr. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, Sheikh Al-Azhar received H.E. Riyad Al-Kaabary, the permanent representative of Yemen to the Arab League.
His eminence the Grand Imam emphasized the keenness of Al-Azhar on the unity of the country and of the Yemeni people. The Grand Imam also pointed out that Al-Azhar spares no effort in supporting the Yemeni people and is ready to offer further support to Yemen as regards education and da’wa to confront all current issues and challenges facing them. His eminence renewed the call for all Yemenis to make the best interest of their homeland their priority in order to regain the stability of their country.
On his part, Ambassador Al-Kaabary expressed his appreciation of the efforts made by Al-Azhar under the leadership of His eminence the Grand Imam in promoting moderate thought of Islam, and establishing peace and coexistence among various peoples and nations. Ambassador Al-Kaabary emphasized that the moderate approach and mission of Al-Azhar are trusted by all the people of Yemen, for the pivotal role which Al-Azhar plays in renewing religious rhetoric, filtering heritage literature and countering extremist thought. Ambassador Al-Kaabary also commended the stances of Al-Azhar in support of the unity and stability of Yemen.
