AOCE Condemns Racist Attack on Mosque in Piera, Barcelona

Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism strongly condemns the heinous racist attack targeting the newly established mosque of the Islamic Association in the town of Piera, located approximately 50 kilometers west of Barcelona. The assault took place in the early hours of Saturday, July 12th.
The mosque was subjected to a deliberate act of arson that completely destroyed its interior, although it was scheduled to officially open in the coming days after receiving its license two years ago.
This appalling attack represents a direct threat to the values of peaceful coexistence, religious and cultural diversity, and mutual respect within society. It underscores the urgent need for a firm and decisive response to all forms of hatred, bigotry, and the violence they breed.
AOCE reaffirms its unwavering stance against all racist and extremist ideologies, calling on relevant authorities to take serious action to bring the perpetrators to justice and protect places of worship for all communities.
