Grand Imam of_Al-Azhar Congratulates President al-Sisi, the Egyptian People, and the Islamic and Arab Nations on Eid al-Fitr

The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmed al-Tayeb, extends his sincere congratulations and best wishes to President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, the Egyptian people, and the Islamic and Arab nations on the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Fitr, asking Allah, the Almighty, to accept our good deeds and to bestow goodness, prosperity, and blessings during these blessed days upon Egypt and our nation.
The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar affirms that Eid al-Fitr represents a divine reward following the fulfillment of the obligation of fasting, and is a precious opportunity to renew bonds of friendship and compassion, to strengthen values of solidarity, and to reject differences and division. He calls upon all Muslims across the world to seize this occasion to maintain family ties, bring joy to the poor and needy, and show kindness and righteousness, while adhering to the principles of Islamic and human fraternity fostered by our noble religion.
The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar also implores the Almighty—Glory be to Him—during these blessed days to unite the Islamic nation and unify its word, especially in light of the grave challenges and severe trials the region has recently witnessed, asking Allah to spare the blood of our nation, to spread peace, security, and stability throughout the Arab and Islamic world, to spare our homelands from strife and evil, and to guide them to the right path.
