Al-Azhar Al-Sharif expresses its profound sorrow and strong condemnation over the collapse of the international legal system and its failure to confront the Zionist occupation’s approval of a draft law that would allow the execution of Palestinian prisoners and detainees. Al-Azhar affirms that this crime once again exposes the bloodstained nature of this occupation, which has not been content with its ongoing violations, but now seeks to institutionalize criminality and killing by granting them a false and discredited legislative cover.
Al-Azhar reiterates its firm rejection of all measures and decisions issued by the occupation to legalize the killing of Palestinians, stressing that this decision is merely a desperate attempt to confer a legal veneer upon murder—one that does not alter its true nature in any way. It further reflects a state of extreme brutality and moral lawlessness, as well as a blatant violation of all human values.
Al-Azhar calls upon the international community and human rights organizations to assume their moral and legal responsibilities in confronting these measures, which flagrantly violate international law and established norms. It urges these institutions to act immediately to halt such measures, hold those responsible accountable, and save innocent lives from this unjust fate.
