Al-Azhar Al-Sharif strongly condemns the incursion into the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Minister of National Security of the occupying Zionist entity. It emphasizes that this step represents a dangerous escalation, an unacceptable provocation of the feelings of Muslims worldwide, a blatant violation of the sanctity of Islamic holy sites, and an undermining of the existing historical and legal status quo in Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem).
Al-Azhar Al-Sharif affirms its categorical rejection of all practices aimed at imposing a new "de facto" reality within the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque. It underscores that the entire area of Al-Aqsa Mosque is a purely Islamic site, and its sanctity must not be compromised or diminished in any form. Furthermore, it warns of the repercussions of these continued violations, which threaten stability in the region and the world.
Accordingly, Al-Azhar Al-Sharif calls upon the international community to fulfill its responsibilities in stopping these repeated violations, protecting Islamic sanctities, and safeguarding the rights of the Palestinian people. It stresses the necessity of respecting the historical and legal status of Islamic Endowments (Awqaf) in Jerusalem and halting all measures targeting these holy sites. Al-Azhar prays to Allah Almighty to protect Al-Aqsa Mosque, repel the plots of aggressors, grant security, peace, and stability to the Arab and Islamic nation, and protect our region from strife, wars, and conflicts.
