Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, headed by His Eminence the Grand Imam, Prof. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, strongly condemns the unjustified Iranian aggression against the United Arab Emirates. Al-Azhar stresses its categorical rejection of all forms of attacks targeting civilians and economic and civilian infrastructure, emphasizing the necessity of respecting the sovereignty of states.
Al-Azhar affirms that targeting civilian and economic facilities and state resources constitutes a transgression prohibited by Sharia and a direct threat to the security and stability of peoples and stands as a flagrant violation of international law.
Al-Azhar calls for an immediate cessation of these attacks and putting an end to the intimidation of civilians. It further urges respect for the principles of good neighborliness, adherence to the ceasefire, and the prioritization of wisdom, reason, and the language of dialogue. Resorting to the negotiating table, it emphasizes, is the only path to resolving conflicts and thwarting the designs of the nation's enemies.
