Al-Azhar condemns strike on Khartoum Airport, urges Sudanese to preserve National unity

Al-Azhar Al-Sharif condemns, in the strongest terms, the attack on Khartoum Airport in the Sudanese capital, considering it a flagrant violation of the Sudan’s sovereignty and a threat to the safety of the innocent civilians. It also warns that such attacks will convert the Sudan into an arena for open war, conflict and chaos.
Al-Azhar reiterates its strong rejection of any attempts, made by neighboring countries, to undermine the country’s sovereignty, security, stability, safety or territorial unity. It calls upon the Sudanese people to give priority to the better interest of their country, exercise wisdom and restraint, and prioritize peaceful dialogue and diplomatic solutions.
Al-Azhar prays to Allah almighty to guide the Sudan’s leaders and people toward unity and reconciliation, for the sake of saving innocent lives and safeguarding the future of this great Arab and Islamic nation.
