His Eminence, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Prof. Ahmed Al-Tayyeb extends his heartfelt congratulations to his Excellency President Abdul Fattah El-Sisi, president of the Arab republic of Egypt, supreme commander of the armed forces, as well as our courageous armed forces; commanders, officers and soldiers, and to the great people of Egypt, on the 52nd anniversary of the October victory. It is the victory that restored to Egypt and the wounded Arab nation’s honor and pride through the sacrifices of its people and recorded a page of honor and chivalry in Egyptian, Arab, and Islamic history.
The Grand Imam asserts that the October victory will remain a significant milestone in the history of Egypt, and an inspiration to younger generations to have deep faith in Allah, to depend on Him to in the face of any aggression, while upholding the principles of determination, challenge, patriotism and sacrificing everything for our land. The people of Egypt sacrificed their sons to save their honor and to uphold the idea that this land is undefeatable as long as it has those patriotic soldiers willing to sacrifice everything for their homeland.
Al-Azhar stresses that Sinai, watered with the blood of martyrs, will forever remain a cherished part of Egypt, a symbol of victory and sovereignty, a defensive wall against greed and evil. Al-Azhar prays to Allah, the Almighty, to protect Egypt, its army, president and people, to keep His bounties of security, stability and dignity, and to bless our Arab and Muslim nation with safety and goodness.
