AOCE’s General Director participates in Celebrating the Sixtieth Anniversary of Nostra Aetate and delivers a Speech at the Grand Mosque in Rome

     In the light of Al-Azhar’s persistent efforts to promote interfaith dialogue and spread the genuine moderate principles, General Director of Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism (AOCE), Dr. Reham Salama, participated in a celebration of 60 years of “Nostra aetate”, the Second Vatican Council’s Declaration on Interreligious Dialogue. 
During her visit, Dr. Reham Salama delivered a lecture in Urdu at the Grand Mosque in Rome addressing a large audience from Pakistan. This lecture underscored Al-Azhar's unwavering dedication to fostering effective and direct communication with Muslim communities in their various languages and to activating its broad outreach and awareness mission. The event was characterized by a positive atmosphere and fruitful side meetings with representatives of several Catholic and academic institutions, who expressed their appreciation for Al-Azhar's pivotal role in supporting a culture of dialogue and world peace.
