Al-Azhar Al-Sharif condemns in the strongest terms the terrorist attack by Zionist occupation gangs on Hajja Hamida Mosque in the West Bank, in a move that reflects the barbarian behavior of those extremists, who bear no respect for the sanctity of places of worship, in addition to their bitter hatred against Islam.
Furthermore, Al-Azhar reiterates that attacking mosques and desecrating their sanctity is a heinous crime that not only targets places of worship but also the feelings of Muslims, and all believers around the world. In addition, this crime is a flagrant violation to all religious teachings, moral values, and international laws and conventions. It further reflects the ongoing occupation’s obnoxious policy and actions that aim to Judaize the whole Palestinian lands, and change their religious and historical identity.
In light of these escalating actions, Al-Azhar warns against the persistence of this terrorist behavior that aims at forcing Policy of fait accompli through acts of terror, under the protection of the occupying forces. Moreover, Al-Azhar calls upon the international community, the United Nations and all concerned entities to assume their legal and moral responsibilities, and to take serious action towards ending those crimes and holding the perpetrator accountable, and to put an end to the impunity enjoyed by the occupation for years.
