His Eminence, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, issued a global appeal in both Arabic and English—through his official social media accounts—calling for urgent solidarity with the innocent people of Gaza, who are facing extremely harsh climatic conditions amid the continued Zionist aggression and repeated violations.
In a post on his account, the Grand Imam stated:
“What Gaza is enduring under these harsh climatic conditions constitutes a genuine test of humanity’s conscience. Innocent people who survived an aggression and genocide beyond human endurance are now confronting relentless rain, violent storms, and biting cold, while children lack even the most basic protection against the cruelty of winter.
The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar emphasized that this painful humanitarian scene places the entire world before an urgent moral and humanitarian responsibility: “either true solidarity that saves lives, or complicity in the deepening of their pain and wounds.”
