On the occasion of Isra’ and Mi‘raj (the miraculous night Journey), His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmed al-Tayeb, extended his congratulations to all Muslims all over the world. He emphasized that this anniversary reminds the Muslim Ummah (pan-nation) of the honor bestowed upon the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) through this eternal miracle. He also highlighted the immense significance of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, affirming that this anniversary is far more than a historical commemoration; it is a fundamental pillar of Islamic identity
On Facebook and X accounts, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar warned of the dangers of the spatial and temporal division of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. He stated, "At a time when plans for temporal and spatial division of this sanctuary are being imposed on this nation, and attempts are being made to obliterate its identity and falsify its landmarks, Al-Aqsa Mosque shall remain an enduring trust for Muslims that never expires or be erased." Finally, he affirmed that the Al-Aqsa Mosque shall remain a symbol of steadfastness and resilience, imploring the Almighty Allah, "May the Al-Aqsa Mosque remain Lofty and Majestic and may the Muslim nation be united, fraternal, and a promising force. Many happy and blessed returns."
