On January 25: AOCE reaffirms the Fundamental Role of Police

On the occasion of Police Day, observed on January 25, Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism reaffirms that security is the fundamental pillar upon which nations are built, as neither economic development nor social stability can be achieved without vigilant eyes that safeguard achievements and protect lives. Brave Police men set an example in sacrifice, giving their utmost in confronting extremism, so that Egypt may remain an oasis of safety.
This pivotal role instills confidence in citizens in the institutions of the state, and creates a successful environment for construction and work.
The Glorious Qur’an has affirmed the value of security as the foremost blessing that precedes sustenance. In the supplication of Prophet Abraham (PBUH), security was placed before provision, as stated in the verse, “And [remember] when Abraham said, ‘My Lord, make this city [of Mecca] secure and provide fruits to its people’” (Qur’an 2:126) This illustrates that security is a “soil” in which fruits of development grow.
Guided by this faith-based and patriotic vision, we commend the efforts of the guardians of our homeland and pray that Allah protects Egypt and its people against all harm.
